Newest Creations!

Have been getting my creative juices going.  I put a new Owl in the shop.  I need to do some more marketing of my items.  The owl is made with a very soft and fluffy fabric.  It is comparable to minky or soft pile fleece.  In the works is an owl I am creating for up and coming Valentine's Day.  So stay tuned! A perfect gift!

Sewed up a potholder recently, because the one I had in the kitchen had seen it's last days.  It a made entirely from 100% linen and imported Japanese linen, what a cute print.  I used three different prints. Check it out.

I also have a new blog.  I know, I know, I don't keep up with the one that I have but it's a blog about my other passions and random ramblings.  So check it out: Passionate Montage and see what you think.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Enjoy crafting and creating peeps.

H A P P Y 2 0 1 1!

Yes, it has been a awhile since I have posted and truthfully I feel that I am totally out of sync with the rest of the world.
I've been sick again with a nasty sinus infection and the added bonus of the flu.  Lost weight but I don't think it is the best way to start off the new year!

I am hoping to pull it together soon. I had a few sales during the holidays but nothing  to write home about.  But I do want to thank those who did purchase from my shop! This Christmas I handmade many gifts to mail to family out of state and it inspired them!  Isn't it a nice feeling when you can inspire others?!  I did do some painting over the holidays.  I will share when I have the room to take the pictures.

Most likely things will start back up in full gear when my kids head back to school.  Also to add to the list of eventful happenings. My youngest son, Brendan is turning 9 on Friday! Happy Birthday Brendan!  We don't do the huge party thing.  It's way over-rated for him, (meaning over stimulation) and he couldn't really handle it.  So we just stick to small and simple family parties.

So Pigeon Peeps I haven't fully disappeared, but sorry for my loooong absence.  Thanks to all who still check in once in a while to see if I am still around.  Love the support.

Take Care♥

Just Talking... about Blogging, Art, etc.

Posting is becoming such a thing of the past lately.  I am trying very hard to get my little shop of the ground but it's not an easy task.  I keep asking myself how to manage my family life with having a blog. Question of the hour I imagine.

I have been shopping like crazy for fabrics and then when they arrive at the door I don't know what to do with them.  I have made a few items and place them in the shop, but they don't seem to be getting the looks.  I love shopping for the cute fabrics, but there is a method to using them in projects to appeal to people. It is quite the learning process.  It's not easy. So I may have to make some changes.

Besides sewing I do paint with acrylics.  I have done a few a thoroughly enjoy it and I have to admit I am pretty good at it. Here is a few that I have done. More on the way.

I talk from the heart most of the time and you'll have to forgive if I sound emotional.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Happy Crafting peeps.

Sewing Tip

Happy Tuesday,

Sewing tip #1 for those of you who sew:  Change your sewing machine needle often or you will end up with skipped stitches and not a good look for your projects. I suggest changing your needle about every eight hours or every project!

It's short and sweet today! Happy Crafting Peeps.

I have Returned!

Happy Friday,

I apologize for the long absence.  I was sick for awhile and I am now back in the groove of things.  I fully admit that trying to keep a blog is quite the feat.

Don't get me wrong it's not that I haven't been doing anything in the way of sewing but I seem to be on a creative block.  I have made a few things for the shop, but because my mind constantly runs in several directions at once I can never be satisfied! There I said it.  I do believe that I have some form of ADHD, just my like youngest with Autism.  It's funny even with such things as body wash, I get bored with what I am using because I want use one that smells different.  Crazy I know, but I do have it under control but it took me 44 years to figure it out.  That's why my reading comprehension is about two minutes.

Well enough about my psychological health, on to creativity! Yay!  Take a look at a few things I have sewn for the shop.

This is "pinky" my latest Little Hoot.  My goal was to get her done before the end of October for Breast Cancer Awareness, but that didn't happen.  That's okay, on to something else.

Shoulder snakes. These are made with long grain white rice.  Put them in the microwave for the ultimate in heat therapy.  Great for the boys, especially if they have sensory issues.  My youngest loves to play with these!

Now, since you all know that I like to do everything, my latest obsession is Zakka Life and all the cute(Kawaii) Japanese Fabrics.  I have some ordered from Etsy.com and will be making some cute stuff.  Stay tuned.

I actually very addicted to all the cute Japanese prints.  These are just some of my favorites.
Now on to the last item to share.  I enjoy painting quite a bit and just last weekend I finished up an acrylic 24" x 30" painting.  I call it the "Quiet Coast."  It's currently gracing our living wall. More are in the works.
Enjoy!

I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.  Happy crafting Pigeon Peeps.
